HUDSON LIBRARY HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION
The Hudson Library Historical Room has come a long way from when we first started working on it. A lot of the Hudson School items are displayed in the room, which include the graduation class pictures, trophies and trophy case from the school and awards from band and other contests. We are pleased that all of those items were saved from the fire that took the Hudson Schools.
We have a number of display cases that were donated to the Historical Room and most of them are already full of display items. Thanks to everyone who has donated items for display for the room. We appreciate everything we receive. If you have anything you would like to donate to the Historical Room or loan for a display, please contact Nathalie Torkelson at 605-214-0708.
We have lots of school items on display in addition to the above mentioned items from the school. We love to have everyone come during the annual Homecoming festivities in September and tour the room.
We also have Boy Scout items, Hudson Centennial items, Hudson Fire Dept. items, UCC Church items and a large number of items given for display that have a history of Hudson connected to them.
We have purchased a couple more display cases and had another display case donated but we are always looking for more display cases or anything that would help in displaying clothing or other items.
The Historical Room is open for special events and displays but we also welcome anyone to call and ask for a tour. You can tour the Historical Room during library hours or call the phone number above to set up a time someone can open it for you.
We also want to remind everyone about the Historical Hudson Boy Scout Cabin. Final restoration of the Boy Scout Cabin has been completed. We hope you will join us at Homecoming in September to see it and enjoy an ice cream social on the Boy Scout Lawn just like the old days.
